Learn new skills and make new friends
In this exciting summer camp, your child or youth will be designing and creating a virtual escape room or environment, with a fun and challenging game component. They’ll be able to choose from thousands of models and scenarios using cutting-edge VR software, called CoSpaces, and a Merge cube which lets them hold virtual 3D objects, enabling an entirely new way of learning and interacting with the digital world! Online participants can download a printable Merge cube and be able to fully participate using the CoSpaces software.
Your child or youth will learn the basics of 3D design and combine that with block-based coding to bring their environment to life. They will play, test, share and remix their work with others to experience the design cycle a real game would go through. This introduction to game design links directly into an increasing demand for these skills ranging from automotive to architecture to the medical field.
In-person spots are limited!
In order to conduct this summer camp in the safest way possible, we have a limited capacity so only the first 10 people to register for each in-person camp will get to take part in this awesome opportunity with real-time access to our instructors! After the first 10 spots are secured, participants will be able to attend this summer camp online. Grab your seat today!
KAST has taken great care to create a safety plan for the Nelson Innovation Centre and our events with a comprehensive safety plan in place to mitigate the risk of exposure to COVID-19.
Through the on-site registration process you will be required to read our safety plan and fill out our Participant Covid-19 Declaration and Health Checklist.
Wish to participate online?
If you can’t attend the event in-person, join us online! Unlimited seats are available through our Zoom Live Stream. Participants will use the CoSpaces software and GLOWS staff will be online moderating the livestream Q&A and getting your questions to our instructors!
